Sketch Book Week 01

sketchbook week 01

My nephew turned seven last month. I can’t believe how fast the time has gone. Seems like just yesterday he was three and belting out Taylor Swift ( I knew you were twubble when you walked iiiin!) Anyway, I usually wrap his presents in brown paper and do a little sketch on them. This year he was so concerned about protecting the drawings that he asked for help opening his presents and saved the paper. After that I bought a small brown paper sketch book, about half the size of a sheet of copy paper, with the intent of doing three to four sketches in it every week. So far I’ve managed to keep up for two weeks and this week I started posting them on my Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Patreon feeds. So pick your favorite social media outlet and follow me so you can see the sketches as I post them or check back here for the next time I do a re-cap like this.

Barley Smash!

When I started drawing dogs as superheroes I put the call out on the internet for suggestions. Barely a minute later my sister was the first to respond. She wanted to see her dog, Barley, as the Hulk. Knowing Barley, this is a perfect mash up (or smash up). He’s not an angry dog but he is a destructive force of nature in the tiny body of a Boston Terrier.

We’ll be back on 2/12 so don’t forget about us!

There are two interests I hold above most others, dogs and comics. Kind of obvious, after all, this is Little Dog Comics. I try to mash them together as often as i can which lead to a series of dogs i know dressed as the super heroes I think they would be. If you would like own a drawing like this of your dog visit our Etsy shop.

You may notice that we haven’t had an update since April 2015. Almost a year! I know that’s a long time but we needed the time to develop great new content so that we won’t have gaps like this in the future. Our new schedule going forward will be every other Friday  starting 1/29. See y’all soon.

In my original Kid Universal story you may remember that there was a band of parachuting cats. Now that I’m reworking that story I thought it would be a good idea to work up some designs for each cat as well as a back story for them. It may not all end up in this story but may find its way into a future one.
