Presidential Report

When I made my last post I noticed the next post was scheduled for Lincoln’s birthday 2/12. I tried to make a page in time but was a day late so, “Happy belated birthday Lincoln.”

I did some research while coming up with ideas for this page and found out that Lincoln was a pretty funny guy. He seemed to have a joke or humorous anecdote for every situation. This page is based on a time when he was feeding his cat at the dinner table with a gold fork. His wife admonished him for it and he shot back, “If a gold for was good enough for Buchanan it’s good enough for Tabby.” Which is funny because James Buchanan was his unpopular predecessor.

Here’s some other interesting facts:

Abraham Lincoln did not like to be called Abe. He preferred to be called Lincoln.

He was a great animal lover. He had goats that lived on the White House lawn and were even permitted to go inside.

He was the first president to have a beard. That’s fifteen baby faced presidents before one was brave enough to rock the manly follicles. An interesting side note, out of forty-four presidents only nine have had beards.

Barley Smash!

When I started drawing dogs as superheroes I put the call out on the internet for suggestions. Barely a minute later my sister was the first to respond. She wanted to see her dog, Barley, as the Hulk. Knowing Barley, this is a perfect mash up (or smash up). He’s not an angry dog but he is a destructive force of nature in the tiny body of a Boston Terrier.

We’ll be back on 2/12 so don’t forget about us!

There are two interests I hold above most others, dogs and comics. Kind of obvious, after all, this is Little Dog Comics. I try to mash them together as often as i can which lead to a series of dogs i know dressed as the super heroes I think they would be. If you would like own a drawing like this of your dog visit our Etsy shop.

You may notice that we haven’t had an update since April 2015. Almost a year! I know that’s a long time but we needed the time to develop great new content so that we won’t have gaps like this in the future. Our new schedule going forward will be every other Friday  starting 1/29. See y’all soon.
